Bollywood is all set to release an interesting book adaptation – Phanishwar Nath Renu’s Panchlait on the silver screen. Actor Brijendra Kala has been said the lead cast of the film Panchlait. The film is directed by Prem Prakash Modi that promises a captivating story.
Panchlait stars Kala along with Anuradha Mukherjee, Amitosh Nagpal, Ravi Jhankal, Rajesh Sharma, Malini Sengupta, Pranay Narayan, Uma Basu, Arunima Ghosh, and Nayna Bandhopadhyay.
The story is set up in the rural backdrop, Panchlait is the story of the village where the electrical connection hasn’t reached yet and a new innovation brings light to the lives of the residents. Petromax or Panchlait is the vernacular language, which is basically an LPG light and is a much better version of the traditional lantern. The first look at the film is going to release on October 11, 2017. Panchlait is going to hit the theatres on November 17, 2017.
The main protagonist of the film is played by Amitosh Nagpal, the character “Godhan” and he does everything in Raj Kapoor’s style. He dresses like him and wears a similar cap and keeps si nging his songs. While the movie is still awaiting release, the director has revealed a couple of interesting things about the film!

Phanishwar Nath Renu has been well-known as the most successful and influential writers of modern Hindi literature in the industry during the post-Premchand era. Back in the 60’s, his screenplay has been very popular with Teesri Kasam (The Third Vow) which has been an unconventional film that has portrayed rural Indian society. Nearly after 51 years, the film Panchlait is coming with the same storyline portraying the lives of small villages, engrossed in their own sorrows and joys.
