Padmaavat Box Office Collection: Ranveer And Deepika Starrer Broke These Records
Amid huge chaos and protests, Padmaavat got released last week on 25th January. Despite the problems and no screening in few states, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus is doing great business at the box office. The movie has divided audience in two section, one who loved the movie for its epic nature and the stellar performances by all the lead actors especially Ranveer Singh, other, who are slamming the makers for its climax scenes. But it looks like these debates and the controversy had benefitted the movie, as it has made movie-goers crazy for the film. Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor starrer is breaking numerous records at the box office window. As of now, Padmaavat Box Office Collection amounts to Rs. 143 Crore in India.
Not only in India, Padmaavat is doing earth-shattering business in the international market as well. The movie has got the highest opening weekend overseas. Padmaavat first overseas weekend box office collection amounts to $12 million (Rs. 76.24 Crore). The movie also becomes highest grossing Hindi film in a single day in North America with the collection of $1.85 million on 27th January.
In the process, Padmaavat becomes the seventh film of Deepika Padukone to enter Rs. 100 Crore Club, which is highest by any leading actress of Bollywood. Before Padmaavat, she had Chennai Express, Ram-Leela, Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, Bajirao Mastani, Happy New Year and Race 2.
After Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela, Bajirao Mastani, Padmavati becomes the third film of Ranveer Singh to enter coveted Rs. 100 Crore Club. The most interesting thing here is all three films are with Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
Padmaavat also marks first Shahid Kapoor film to enter Rs. 100 Crore Club. The actor has given several critical performances in movies like Haider, and Udta Punjab to name a few, he didn’t have a wonderful run at the box office.
Padmaavat is surely going to enter Rs. 200 Crore club in the second week, but we’ll have to wait and see if it can make it to Rs. 300 Crore. If it follows the trend, it might enter Rs. 300 Crore club pretty easily.
