NCB Chief gives team 6-months to file charge sheet in B'wood's alleged drugs nexus case!

Ever since drug angle has been discovered in late actor Sushant Singh Rajput death case,  the Narcotics Control Bureau’s extensive investigation has unveiled an alleged drug nexus in Bollywood, which has put forth a lot of celebrity names under anti-drug agency’s scanner. From Rhea Chakraborty’s recovered WhatsApp drug chat to enquiring high-profile drug peddlers, NCB’s interrogation disclosed names of A-listed celebrities like Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor and Rakul Preet Singh and now after grilling them for hours, the agency Chief has given six months to the team to file a charge sheet in Bollywood’s alleged drug nexus case.

NCB Chief Rakesh Asthana, who flew down to Mumbai from Delhi on Sunday, reportedly conducted a late-night meeting with the agency officials where he not only laid down blueprint of further investigation but also gave them six months to file a charge sheet. As per a media report, the chief officer also gave his team a green signal for the crackdown of the drug nexus in this high-level meeting. The report also stated that Bollywood stars who were summoned and questioned by the agency haven’t been given a clean chit and can be summoned any time in future.

For the unversed, where one of the prime accused in Rajput’s death case and his live-in partner, Rhea Chakraborty had given out a list of 15 Bollywood celebrities including; Rakul Preet Singh, Sara Ali Khan and fashion designer Simone Khambatta, Deepika’s name had cropped up after her talent manager Karishma Prakash’s WhatsApp chats were accessed by the agency where the actress was asking her specifically for ‘hash’.

Another actress Shraddha Kapoor’s name too has been surfaced in this drug angle after SSR’s Pawna island boatman in his NCB questioning admitted to having ferried Shraddha, Sara, Rhea and the late actor among many others to the drug parties on his island farmhouse. One of the promising talent and already an established actor of Bollywood, Sushant Singh Rajput, was found dead under mysterious circumstances at his Bandra flat on June 14.

Though at first Mumbai Police had reported it to be a suicide case but as no suicide note was found it created a lot of criticism and later it roped in Central Bureau of Investigation in the case. Currently, the case is being probed by three central agencies; CBI has been heading the investigation, Enforcement directorate looking into Money laundering angle, and NCB enquiring fresh drug angle emerged in the case after Rhea’s drug chats were recovered by ED form her mobile.
