MP Constable Runs 1.5km On Rail Track Carrying Bleeding Man
A Madhya Pradesh Constable named Poonam Billore won hearts by going beyond the call of duty. He carried an injured man on his shoulders for a few kilometres on a railway track to take him to a hospital.
The incident happened on Saturday in Hoshangabad. The man fell off a moving train close to the Pagdhal railway station and seriously injured. Poonam Billore ran for more than a kilometer along the railway tracks with an injured man on his shoulders.
There were no motorable road near the accident spot, no ambulance or police vehicle could reach the injured man who fell down from a moving train and lay there for some time before Billore came to his rescue.
Shivpur Police incharge Sunil Patel said Ajit (35), a resident of Bhadohi in Uttar Pradesh, fell off a Mumbai-bound train at Ravan Peepal village close to Pagdhal railway station on Saturday morning, reported PTI.
“The spot was around two kilometres away from the railway gate and even an ambulance couldn’t reach there. We went by foot and found him critically injured. So, to save his life, I carried him on my shoulders to a railway crossing over 1.5 km away. After reaching Pagdhal railway station he was taken to a health centre in Seoni’s Malwa area and then shifted to Hoshangabad district hospital.” constable Billore told ANI.
The video of Billore carrying the injured man on his shoulders has won him accolades with many saluting the constable for going the extra mile to help a stranger.
