After 17 long years, Indian beauty Manushi Chillar won Miss World 2017 Title. She became the sixth Indian woman to win the crown. Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra was last Indian to win this title in the year 2008. Manushi hails from Haryana and is a daughter of Dr. Mitra Basu Chhillar who is a scientist at the Defence Research and Development Organisation and  Dr. Neelam Chhillar who is an associate professor and department head of neurochemistry at the Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences.

Before stepping into glamour industry, Manushi Chillar was pursuing a medical degree at the Bhagat Phool Singh Government Medical College for Women in Sonipat.

She participated in Femina Miss India 2017 in the month of June 2017 and represented her state Haryana in the competition. Not only she won the  Femina Miss India 2017 title but also won the title of Miss Photogenic. By winning Miss India she got right to represnt India in Miss World 2017 competition.

She is a trained Kuchipudi dancer. She took her dance training from legendary dancers Raja and Radha Reddy and Kaushalya Reddy.

She also went to drama school-  National School of Drama. Seems like she is planning to make a debut in Bollywood.
