Minutes After Marriage This Bride Was Tested For Pregnancy And Virginity By Her Husband Without Her Consent

Here we thought that we have come a long way in recognizing women for their work and achievements rather than looks. However, it seems that the mindset of this patriarchy society is engraved in the minds of people so deep that it can never change. We have seen several incidents that show a woman having s3x before the marriage is considered shameful.  There are people who still look for a virgin bride or breaks off the marriage after finding otherwise.

Recently, a new bride from North Karnataka allegedly underwent virginity and pregnancy tests by her husband without even knowing about it just after her wedding. The bride was unwell due to gastritis and vomited minutes after the wedding, which resulted in her in-laws questioning “fidelity”. The groom took her to the hospital and got her tested for virginity and pregnancy rather than gastritis.

A counselor working with the Bengaluru city police Aparna Purnesh said, “She signed the consent forms without looking into the details. She got to know about the tests only when they were almost done.”

The 29-year-old groom and 26-year-old bride met each other through a matrimonial portal. Both of them are MBA graduates and working in reputed companies.

The bride lost her mother to cancer just 15 days before her wedding ceremony leaving her depressed. However, the groom misread the situation believing that she was unhappy with the marriage.

The woman filed a complaint against him for harassment and suspecting her fidelity.

This is seriously a cause of concern. It is time we treat a woman equal to man and break all the taboos which are appalling to the core.
