Michael Vaughan Impressed With Virat Kohli and His Men For Their Tribute To Pulwama Martyrs
As you all know India took on Australia in the third ODI match against Australia yesterday March 9, 2019, at JSCA International Stadium Complex, Ranchi. India lost the match by 32 runs despite Indian Skipper Virat Kohli scoring his 41st century.
Despite the result, third ODI will be remembered by all cricket lovers for a very important gesture by the Indian Cricket team. Men-in-blue took the field wearing camouflage caps and paid tribute to the 44 brave CRPF personnel who lost their lives in dastardly Pulwama terror attack on February 14.
Before the start of the play, Lt Col Mahendra Singh Dhoni handed over the camouflage caps to the team members. He also received it form Skipper Kohli. This move of the Indian team has been appreciated by fans as well as cricket experts, as they lauded this heart rendering gesture.
Several popular sports celebrities also lauded the Indian Team’s effort. Commentator Harsha Bhogle tweeted, “So the Indian team will wear army camouflage style caps today in tribute to, and in solidarity with, the armed forces. Maybe in future, one cricket day will be dedicated to the armed forces. No surprise this is a Dhoni initiative.”

Not only Indian but international cricketers are also appreciating this. Former England Skipper Michael Vaughan replied to Harsha’s tweet and appreciated this gesture by the men-in-blue. He tweeted,
“Really good way for a Sporting team to show support to the armed forces …”
