‘Mary Kom’ Priyanka congratulates king of ‘Queen’ Vikas Bahl
Mumbai, March 24 (IANS) Joyous over the victory of her own film âMary Komâ at the 62nd National Film Awards, actress Priyanka Chopra has reached out to other winners like Vikas Bahl of âQueenâ and Vishal Bhardwaj of âHaiderâ to congratulate them.
âYay! Kabhi Kisi ko itna Bhi mat Darao ki darr hi khatm ho jaaye! Congratulations to @OmungKumar @SaiwynQ Viacom, Sanjay Sir and the whole crew,â Priyanka posted in a tweet on Tuesday, after âMary Komâ was named the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.
In the titular role of the biopic of real-life boxing champion M.C. Mary Kom, Priyanka, a National Award winner herself, essayed a fearless woman, who becomes a national icon through her determined pursuit of sporting excellence.
In a show of true sportsmanship spirit, she congratulated director Vikas Bahl for winning Best Hindi film for âQueenâ, which even won the Best Actress gong for Kangana Ranaut.
âQueen ka real king!! #VikasBehl @fuhsephantom congratulations and so proud! What a journey and so well deserved,â posted Priyanka, who is currently in the US to film TV series “Quantico”.
Also sending out best wishes to Bhardwaj, whose âHaiderâ won five awards, she wrote: âCongratulations @bharadwajvishal for all your wins for Haider. So well deserved sir!â
The film won Best Male Playback Singer for Sukhwinder Singh for the song “Bismil”; Best Dialogues and Music Direction for the filmâs director Vishal Bhardwaj; Best Choreography for Norway-based Sudesh Adhana; and Best Costume Designer for the effervescent Dolly Ahluwalia.
