The untimely death of the veteran actress Sridevi not only saddened the entire country but also her fans across the globe. Her fans from Southern India arrived in Mumbai to have a glimpse of her on funeral day. They waited for hours to see the face of their favorite actress. But Omprakash Mehra, who lives in Sheopur, Madhya Pradesh, had a very deep impact of Sridevi’s death. Even after being aware of the fact that Boney Kapoor married Sridevi, Omprakash considered Sridevi as his wife. He even organized a Shraddhanjalli Sabha in the school of Daduni Village on Sunday. He placed a picture of the late actress with a garland and the deck was covered with flowers. He even shaved his head in the memory of his favorite actress.
In 2002, Omprakash registered his wife’s name as Sridevi on the voter list. He has sent more than 3 thousand letters to the actress but he couldn’t get the chance to meet her. He watched Sridevi’s movie when he was in school and since then he became a huge fan of her. He even continued writing letters to her since he watched her first movie. Once he got the opportunity to meet her but due to some reason, he couldn’t get success in that.
When he heard the news of her death, he stopped eating and drinking. He even wanted to marry her as till now he is unmarried.
One of Omprakash friends said: “My friend Omprakash loves Sridevi a lot and he has considered her as his wife. He (Omprakash) has said that he will wait for her till seven re-births. He didn’t shave his head when his mother died but for Sridevi, he did that.”
When everyone saw Sridevi’s name on Omprakash’s voter list, everyone was shocked. When he was asked he said that he considers Sridevi as his wife, and that’s the reason he has registered her name.
