Mahie Gill Regret Doing Dabangg, Says Film Backfired Big Time

It is a dream of every Bollywood actress to share a screen space with Salman Khan once in a lifetime but in the case of Dev D actress Mahine Gill, her career backfired to her after sharing screen space with Salman Khan in Dabangg. Her upcoming film third part of Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster is scheduled to release on 27th of July. Sanjay Dutt is the new addition to the hit franchise.

After sharing screen space with Abhay Deol in Dev D, Mahie featured in Gulaal and then came Dabangg. While talking to media, actress explained how staring in Dabangg backfired her career.

“After Dev D, I had won a lot of appreciation and awards. People wanted to sign me for films. But I did Dabangg and it backfired big time. The producers started to offer me small roles. I felt very bad but I did not know what was happening. I believe in destiny a lot, I think this was meant to happen. I did regret doing the role but now I do not,” Mahie told PTI.

She also went up on saying that though movie was commercially success but it wasn’t beneficial for her career. “In my case, it backfired. My career stopped at that very point. Thanks to Tigmanshu Dhulia for offering me Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster series.”

On sharing her experience working with Sanjay Dutt, Mahie shared an incident from the sets which proves that Sajay Dutt is very concerned about his co-actors.

“I was injured when the shooting was going on, and I couldn’t move. I was told by the doctors not to move, but I took my medicines and went for the shoot. It was my first time shooting while in severe pain, and Sanjay was very concerned. He would inquire about my health daily; he is very concerned about his co-stars, and that shows what kind of a person he is. He’s great,” she says.
