After a sabbatical of two years from the silver screen, Madhuri Dixit Nene is set to make a comeback to films.
Post her marriage, Madhuri had taken a metaphorical leave of absence from Bollywood and shifted base to US, where her husband is based. But, to the delight of her fans, she returned to B-town after a long break.
However, after 2014’s crime-drama ‘Dedh Ishqiya’, the actress remained pre-occupied with her TV commitments, where she is often seen as a celebrity judge.
But, after a 2 year hiatus, the actress has reportedly signed a period drama with ‘Two States’ director Abhishek Varman titled ‘Shiddat’.
The film’s existing cast includes Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Arjun Kapoor. Madhuri’s inclusion has given rise to speculation that the actress will essay the pivotal role of Alia’s mother in the film.
Back in 2011, Madhuri had allegedly said no to playing the role of Sonam Kapoor’s mother.
