Saif Ali Khan on Sacred Games controversy: One can get killed for criticizing the government in India

India’s first Netflix show- Sacred Games staring Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Radhika Apte, Suvreen Chawla is grabbing everyone’s attention because of its graphic content, violence, slang, $ex and unfiltered outlook at Indian politics. Recently A member of the Congress party filed a petition against the show  for making derogatory comment over former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. Recently his son Rahul Gandhi took it to the twitter and responded to this on-going controversy. His tweet read as: “My father lived and died in the service of India. The views of a character on a fictional web series can never change that.”

When a media portal asked Saif Ali Khan to comment over the same, he said , “If you date someone from the wrong caste, somebody will kill you in some parts of India. That’s just the way it is. I don’t know how much you can criticise your government in India, somebody might kill you.”

“It will be deeply frustrating if something happens to the show. If someone says you can’t air this or if Netflix is discontinued. Then that will be my turn to be outraged,” Saif added.

Buzz is doing rounds that there can be another season of the show. Released on July 6, Sacred Games has received positive reviews from critics but criticized by politicians.
