Kiara Advani is all set to play the female role in the film ‘Lakshmi’, which is the Hindi remake of Kanchana. Khiladi Kumar has been finalised to play the male protagonist. The shooting of the film will reportedly kick-start in April, however, an official confirmation regarding the same is awaited.
A source said, Kaira has almost been confirmed for the role, and the only the final formalities are being worked out. Akshay is currently busy with Good News, starring Kareena Kapoor post which he will get on this project. The remake has been on Akshay’s mind for a long time and he’s happy that finally things are falling into place.
The source added, “The makers are also approaching R Madhavan to be a part of the movie as well.”
While the lead actors have been finalised, the makers are looking for a director. They are still looking out for someone who can direct the project.
Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani will also be sharing screen space in Good News, but Lakshmi will be their first film opposite each other. The film also marks Akshay’s return to the horror-comedy genre after Bhool Bhulaiyaa.
