Another film which reaped the benefits of its lesser cost of production is Freaky Ali. No, this Sohail Khan venture is not a hit but the numbers it posted in its first day was enough to say why it managed to go past the hugely publicised Baar Baar Dekho it rivalled at the box office. According to reports, it was made at a budget of 15 cr and the trade wasn’t too hopeful about it. They predicted a Rs 1 cr first day and Rs 3 cr opening weekend. But the film earned Rs 2.55 cr on day one and Rs 8. 50 cr over the weekend. It’s lifetime collection wrapped up at Rs 14. 55 cr. Mind you the film only got 600-700 screens!
