Kartik Aaryan says he’s “never had anything handed” to him, adding, “I had to build my own plate, working with debut directors.”

Kartik Aaryan, celebrated for his versatility, recently opened up about his self-made journey in Bollywood, emphasizing that nothing came easily to him. Reflecting on his path, he shared, “No one brought me a Rs 500 crore director.” Instead, he began his career collaborating with debut filmmakers, proving himself without established backing.

In an interview with IndianExpress.com, Kartik was asked about the pressure to achieve high box-office success, especially with recent blockbusters like *Animal* and *Stree 2* setting benchmarks. Kartik explained that such results often involve calculated strategies: “There’s a whole mathematics behind it — the team, their past films, target audiences, release dates, holidays. When things are strategically aligned, you don’t feel that pressure.”

Acknowledging that box office dynamics aren’t the same for every film, Kartik described how he built his career without advantages handed to him. “I’ve never had anything on a silver platter. I had to make my own opportunities. No one brought me a Rs 500 crore director when I started,” he shared, adding that he’s had to create his own platform rather than waiting for established names to support him.

Kartik also clarified he wasn’t making complaints or comparisons but simply acknowledging his journey. Starting from relative obscurity, he now finds recognition nationwide, a shift he’s genuinely grateful for.

On the professional front, Kartik is set to appear in *Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3* alongside Triptii Dimri, Vidya Balan, and Madhuri Dixit, a film eagerly awaited by his fans.
