After Deepika Padukone, now actress Priyanka Chopra has landed into trouble. Her most popular show ‘Quantico’ has faced a backlash from the Indians. In one of the episodes of Quantico, aired on June 1, showed an Indian group planning an attack in Manhattan with the intention of blaming it on Pakistan. An MIT professor gets uranium and he plans to make a nuclear bomb. The nuclear bomb is supposed to be planned in an Indo-Pak summit to be held in New York City.
Though the network asked an apology for the controversy, the Hindu Karni Sena is all in protest for the desi girl Priyanka Chopra. In the protest, they are saying that the actress has degraded Hindus as terrorists. They are seen holding placards reading “Priyanka Chopra is a traitor, send her to Pakistan”. They have even demanded to seal her passport and boycott all her brands and works.
The group issued a statement that read as: “Started her career by crying foul about being ill-treated and being victim of racism in the United States, Priyanka Chopra used derogatory reference to India and Hindus in her American series, Quantico.”
“A woman, who is a daughter of an Indian Army officer, who got a chance to represent India and was crowned Miss World, Bollywood actor and part of other national and international humanitarian projects and UN goodwill ambassador has stooped to such lows to gain a few dollars and some fame and a desperate attempt to fit in international circle(s) is utterly shameful and disgraceful.”
Priyanka has asked for an apology on the matter. She tweeted, “I’m extremely saddened and sorry that some sentiments have been hurt by a recent episode of Quantico. That was not and would never be my intention. I sincerely apologise. I’m a proud Indian and that will never change.”
