Kareena Kapoor Khan Opens Up About Public Scrutiny Over Son Taimur’s Name, Shares Grandfather’s Advice: “You Need a Heart of Stone”
Kareena Kapoor Khan, a prominent figure in Bollywood and known for her active social media presence, recently opened up about navigating public scrutiny, especially regarding her son Taimur’s name. In a candid interview with Miss Malini, she reflected on the advice from her grandfather to have “patthar ka dil” (a heart of stone) in the face of criticism, especially during the controversy surrounding Taimur’s name at his birth in 2016.
Kareena admitted that the public discourse surrounding Taimur’s name did affect her emotionally. She acknowledged, “Of course it affected me that people were talking about Taimur’s name.” Despite the negativity, she believes Taimur remains largely unaware of the attention he garners. She finds it perplexing that people comment on Taimur, especially since they don’t truly know him. Nonetheless, she notes that he receives an overwhelming amount of love from the public, which is a positive aspect of the scrutiny.
As a mother, Kareena consistently reminds Taimur about the importance of establishing his own identity, distinct from his famous parents. She recognizes that he is gradually understanding this concept, appreciating that such awareness is part of his growth.
Discussing her husband Saif Ali Khan’s perspective on the attention their children receive, Kareena highlighted his calm and composed demeanor. Saif reassures her that they need to remain relaxed and confident in handling the situation.
While Kareena enjoys sharing glimpses of her life on Instagram, she chooses to keep certain aspects private, maintaining a balance between being relatable to fans and protecting her family’s personal space. This careful approach allows her to navigate fame while prioritizing her family’s well-being.
