Karan Johar’s 2019 viral party truth; NCB’s forensic report tells it’s ‘authentic’
Karan Johar’s 2019 viral party video, against which a complaint was filed by Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa, the Narcotics Control Bureau’s forensic team soon started its investigation and sent the video for forensic testing to see if the video was legit.
The video, which re-surfaced after a drug angle was found in late actor Sushant Singh Rajput death and had created a lot of uproar online, put celebrities like Deepika Padukone, Shakun Batra, Malaika Arora, Arjun Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Zoya Akhtar, Vicky Kaushal, Ayan Mukerji, and Ranbir Kapoor, among others under agency’s scanner after the complaint was filed.
Now as per the latest reports, NCB’s forensic report has revealed that the video is indeed authentic and was uploaded by filmmaker Karan Johar, who was also the host of the party, on his Instagram. According to a media report, the forensic tests have confirmed that the video is unedited and legit and there has been no tampering done with it. After testing its authenticity, the anti-drug probing agency will now decide the following course of action.
NCB officials and the SIT team investigating the drug case, reportedly, held a meeting with agency chief Rakesh Asthana on Sunday, details of which are yet to be disclosed. The meeting took place after Bollywood’s A-listed stars like Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, and Rakul Preet Singh were interrogated over the weekend for their involvement in drugs.
Furthermore, the SAD leader, taking the seriousness of the video into consideration had filed a complaint with Mumbai Police last year as well but as no action was taken, Sirsa once again lodge a complaint against the viral video this year, images of which were also uploaded on his Twitter account, that read, “I met Sh. Rakesh Asthana, Chief of @narcoticsbureau at BSF head quarter, Delhi regarding submission of complaint for investigation & action against film Producer @karanjohar & others for organizing drug party at his residence in Mumbai That party video must be investigated into!”
