Karan Johar at his hilarious best at the trailer launch of ‘Baahubali’
The trailer of the big budget film, ‘Baahubali’ casted its spell on media along with the cast and crew at the much-awaited trailer launch of the film. Presented by Karan Johar, the trailer which was unveiled at a multiplex in Mumbai saw director SS Rajamouli and lead actors Rana Daggubati, Prabhas, Anushka Shetty and Tamannaah Bhatia putting their best foot forward.
Karan, who has many big budget Bollywood films lined up in his kitty, was in a mood to crack jokes that left media in splits. When asked about what has he taken away from the ace director down south he says, “I have thought to stop judging reality TV shows and start making more movies and concentrate on my work.”
The director also went on to congratulate concept driven films that have entered the 100 crore club. “There are very few films in which I feel very emotionally charged. Dil Dhadakne Do is very exciting and it’s going to be an outstanding film. ‘Piku’ is one of the recent films that reminded me of my father and ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ made me laugh whole heartedly,” he shared.
The delightful evening also saw Karan speaking about his contemporaries. “Each film maker has this certain strength. When you look at Imtiaz Ali, he has this great conversational writing. When you look at Zoya Akhtar’s work, she gets into the depths of relationship. Raju Hirani who taps into a socialist issue with a certain kind of cinematic vision,” he said.
However speaking about his upcoming project ‘Shuddhi’ Karan felt a bit skeptical so-much-so that he even said, “Hey Bhagwaan! Shuddhi ko pata nai kis kism ka nazar lag chuka hai. (Oh god! Don’t know what kind of jinx is Shuddhi facing?) I am actually going to show everyone the poster and then let everyone know that finally it’s a reality and not a myth.”
‘Baahubali inspired by the mythology ‘Mahabharat’ is set to release on July 10.
