Karan Johar Announced The Star Cast Of ‘Takht’ On Twitter, Got Slammed Over Nepotism

Karan Johar is the launchpad for newcomers specially for star kids. From Alia to Varun to Janhvi, he has launched many fresh talents in the Bollywood industry. Dharma Productions is known for making mega movies with a huge star cast. A couple of days back Karan took to his social media handle announcing his next movie. He wrote, “An incredible story embedded in history…An epic battle for the majestic Mughal throne… A story of a family, of ambition, of greed, of betrayal, of love & of succession…TAKHT is about WAR for LOVE….@dharmamovies @apoorvamehta18″

It is a historical movie based on two conflicting brothers of the Mughal era. Karan took to his Twitter to announce the star cast. It will star Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Janhvi Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal and Bhumi Pednekar. As per sources, Kareena will be seen playing Ranveer’s sister, while Alia will play his love interest. Vicky will play the pivotal role of Aurangzeb, and Janhvi will play his wife.

After Karan announced the cast of the movie, he was mercilessly trolled for nepotism. People slammed him saying that it will be a comedy rather than a periodic drama. Also one asked him why he didn’t cast Taimur in the movie.

Talking about ‘Takht’, the film will be helmed by Karan himself and dialogues will be written by Hussain Haidry while the screenplay will be done by Sumit Roy. Karan is all set to try his hands in the periodic drama and he will direct it with his own style of direction. It will hit the screens in 2020.
