Kangana Ranaut: After A Year Full Of Controversies, My Commercial Viability Has Been Affected
Kangana Ranaut has been one of the topmost actresses in the current times. However, her last few films haven’t got the cash registers ringing at the box-office. Here’s what Kangy has to say about that…
There is absolutely no doubt that Kangana Ranaut is one of the best actresses of this generation. But when you give back to back flops, people do start questioning your work. In her case, people have started tagging her as the controversial queen who make headlines always but doesn’t end up giving hits.
The good part is that Kangana is aware of this and accepts that the audiences support is changing when it comes to her films. “The offers haven’t slowed but my commercial viability has been affected. The endorsements are fewer, my earnings are down and my plan to open my own production house has had to be pushed. But I have signed three films, have a beautiful house in Manali now and an office on Pali Hill and I’m going to Harvard so don’t write me off just yet,” said Kangana while speaking to a leading daily.
Simran, Rangoon, Katti Batti, etc were all riding on her name, and the films tanked heavily at the box-office. So it was but obvious that people would question. The failure came despite the fact that Kangana was making headlines with all sorts of controversies, from her affair with Hrithik Roshan to the nepotism debate with Karan Johar.
So why didn’t these controversies help sail her films through at the box-office when it was needed?
“I don’t want my life to become a cautionary tale but an inspiration for young girls and for that I will survive and succeed,” added Kangana.
All we can say Kangy is that when you are making news, let’s make news for the great films that you have done. Once the films start making huge money, all other things will just fall in place one after the other.
