The film ‘Kalank’ which was possibly the most widely anticipated movie of the year. Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions movie was released on Wednesday. Early reviews suggest that the movie is grand and made on a large scale but it certainly lacks soul. The movie didn’t match up to the sky-high expectations of the fans. No sooner Twitterati unleashed a meme fest on social media.
The film was featured with the return of the Madhuri Dixit–Sanjay Dutt jodi with the young favorites Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan, accompanied by Aditya Roy Kapur and Sonakshi Sinha. The film was directed by Abhishek Varman who had made his directorial debut with the movie 2 States.
The movie had been a life –long dream of Karan Johar and the Late Yash Johar had high expectations riding on it. The loyal fanbase of stars for how different they seemed than most of their previous roles. The songs, covers and dance videos also became a hit on social media. The movie clearly had a mixed reaction.
