Kajol admits having ‘rift’ with sister Tanishaa due to comparisons: ‘It wasn’t something that worked…’
Bollywood star Kajol has long been a leading figure in the industry, while her sister, Tanishaa Mukerji, made her film debut in 2003 with *Sssshhh…*. Recently, Tanishaa opened up about a past disagreement between the sisters, noting that they have since resolved their differences. The rift, however, didn’t significantly impact their bond.
In a recent interview with News 18, Kajol spoke about the challenges she and Tanishaa faced during a period of tension. She admitted that being in the same industry can sometimes lead to unwanted comparisons and rivalry, which, in their case, was temporary. She explained, “It did happen at some point, but we sorted it out. It wasn’t something that worked too much against us. Tanishaa is doing films, but that issue is behind us now.”
Tanishaa had previously shared in an interview with Siddharth Kannan that Kajol chose not to watch *Neal ‘n’ Nikki*, a film featuring multiple kissing scenes between Tanishaa and Uday Chopra, her then-boyfriend. Reflecting on the film, she admitted that the content was more provocative than what she or her family were used to. Today, she advises young viewers to wait before watching it, acknowledging the cultural values that influence such decisions.
Tanishaa also mentioned that her relationship with Uday Chopra made the intimate scenes more comfortable, as they began dating during the film’s production. She described those moments as natural, given their off-screen relationship.
Meanwhile, in a conversation with the Indian Express, Kajol shared her thoughts on social media. She expressed relief that she lived most of her life without it, rejoining only six years ago. Kajol pointed out that social media often presents an unrealistic version of life, showcasing only the best moments and ignoring the challenges and hard work behind the scenes.
