Based on cross border love story featuring Arjun Kapoor, John Abraham, Rakul Preet Singh and Aditi Rao Hydari, the untitled movie caught everyone’s attention not only because of its amazing script and concept but also for its talented star cast. The film went on floors without a title, however, rumours were abuzz that it was to be named ‘Chale Chalo’, which later turned out to be false news.
Now, as per an insider, this romantic cross border drama has been given a title, “The film is called Sardar & Grandson. The makers of the film feel it’s an apt title considering the film’s plot. Everyone in the unit is happy with this name and is looking forward to completing it and releasing it at the apt time.”
Directed by debutant Kaashvie Nair, the film was launched last year and if Covid-19 wouldn’t have happened the movie would have got completed by March-end or beginning of April this year. However, due to the Coronavirus-induced lockdown, the shooting was indefinitely delayed. But in August, the makers decided to shoot with the scenes of John Abraham and Aditi Rao Hydari, both of whom have special appearances in the movie.
As per reports, John and Aditi’s role is set in 1947 where former will be seen playing the younger Kanwaljit Singh and the latter will essay the younger Neena Gupta. As this movie captures a love story of a sardar, played by John, and Arjun Kapoor plays the grandson, it’s probably why the film has been aptly titled ‘Sardar & Grandson’.
To note, apart from the special appliance, John is also one of the producers of the film along with Bhushan Kumar, Divya Khosla Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani and Nikkhil Advani. Once John and Arjun wrap up ‘Sardar & Grandson’, they are reportedly to share screen space once again in Mohit Suri’s directorial ‘Do Villain’.
