Legendary lyricist Javed Akhtar had shared a picture of his children actor Farhan Akhtar and filmmaker Zoya Akhtar celebrating the auspicious day of Rakshabandhan. In the picture shared on his twitter account, Farhan can be seen putting out his wrist in which his sister Zoya is tying a Rakhi on. The caption of the image read, “Farhan, Zoya and a Rakhi.”
As trolls have a tendency of attacking everything and everyone, this pic was noticed by such people and negativity ensured. However, Javed tackled the responses to the picture gracefully.

Someone commented with a heavy dose of sarcasm, “Badi Jaldi yad aa gaya.”
To which Akhtar replied, “Itnay dukhi kyon rehtay ho beta. Zindagi mein khush rehnay ki koshish karo.” (Why are you sad, dear? Try to seek happiness in life.”
Another asked the lyricist why was he celebrating the festival as it is a known fact that his family is an atheist. The tweet said, “But your family is Atheist. Then how come this faith that a Rakhi thread tied by a sister will protect a brother? It’s a Hindu religious belief.” Javed replied to this, “For us Raksha Bandhan is an extremely beautiful tradition of Indian culture.”
