This Popular 90’s Comedy Show To Be Remade As A Web Series

With the OTT platform, makers are trying their hands in remakes of the popular shows of the 90’s. These shows are getting fresh avatars on the digital platforms as web series. The latest show to be remade in web series is 90’s comedy show ‘Zabaan Sambhal Ke’ that had ensemble cast including Pankaj Kapur, Shubha Khote, Bhavana Balsavar, Tanaaz Irani, Viju Khote, Tom Alter and many more. It was aired on Doordarshan and was a prime time show having Pankaj Kapur in the lead role. The cult show is all set to return with a fresh cast and it will have ten episodes. As per a statement by AltBalaji, “The story revolves around The National Institute of Languages ‘NIL’. The story revolves around a bunch of crazy and quirky characters from the Hindi class of 2018. Their interpersonal equations and eccentricities create hilarious and naughty episodes in the show. With an ensemble and a rib-tickling cast like Sumeet Raghavan, Bakhtiyar Irani, Soma Anand, Tarannum and Nyra Banerjee to name a few, the show is sure to recreate the magic!”As per reports, Sumeet has been finalised to play Mohan Bharti, the Hindi teacher who hates his job. Soma Anand will be playing the principal of the school, Miss Dixit, the role that was earlier played by veteran actress Shubha Khote.

‘Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai’, ‘Hum Paanch Phir Se’, ‘Khichdi’, and many shows of the 90’s were remade, but unfortunately, these shows failed to live up to the expectations of the audiences.

We are excited about the web series of ‘Zabaan Sambhal Ke’. What about you? Share your views in the comment section.
