- MR. India was the first film that Sridevi dubbed
As a child artist, Sridevi made her Bollywood debut from the movie ‘Julie’ in 1975. But like so many foreign artists Sridevi’s voice was dubbed in every film. At that time, Sridevi’s Hindi was weak and she was unable to speak properly in Hindi. All these things continued till her movie Mr. India. After which, she decided to learn fluent Hindi. For which, she hired a tutor Sushma Ahuja. She was a theater artist and she taught Hindi to Sridevi. Then, in the movie Mr. India, Sridevi dubbed her own dialogues.
