The biggest cricketing event ICC World Cup 2019 is all set to kick start from May 30, 2019, in England and Wales. Indian Team is a fan favorite to lift the world cup this year. Now, we have learned that Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is all set to pick the Indian team for upcoming world cup on April 15.
Confirming the same, BCCI Officials told Sports Star that senior selection committee and Indian Skipper Virat Kohli will meet on Monday, April 15 to select the team for world cup. The final squad for ICC ODI World Cup will be announced on or before April 20. As per the World Cup guidelines, April 23 is the last day for submitting a team for the world cup.
All the teams can make changes to the final 15-member squad submitted to ICC seven days prior to the tournament.
Talking about the World Cup Team, Chairman of BCCI Selection Committee MSK Prasad said, “I am confident that we are going to announce a good team. We have worked on this for almost one and a half years. We have observed all the players, tested good combinations.”
India will start its world cup campaign with a match against South Africa on June 5.
