In A First, Home Minister Rajnath Singh Carries Coffin of Slain CRPF Jawan In Pulwama Attack

February 14 will be remembered as darkest day for Indians, as the nation lost 44 brave CRPF jawans in the bloodiest terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir. The entire country stands united while mourning and condemning the cowardly act of terror. Prime Minister promised the nation a strong response to this heinous crime. On the other hand, Home Minister Rajnath Singh was seen carrying a coffin of a brave soldier who lost his life in Pulwama attack.

According to a report in NDTV, Rajnath Singh arrived in Budgam (which is 30 KM far from Srinagar) at 2 PM yesterday. He helped brave soldiers and top police officer Dilbagh Singh in carrying the coffin of a CRPF jawan. He said,

“The nation will not forget the supreme sacrifice of our brave CRPF jawans. I have paid my last respects to the martyrs of Pulwama. The sacrifice will not go in vain.”

The martyred soldiers were taken to the Srinagar airport, from where a special aircraft flew them away. Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Jammu And Kashmir Governor Satya Malik, Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba, CRPF Director General RR Bhatnagar and Dilbagh Singh stood in silence, as the process continues.

Rajnath Singh’s gesture has won the hearts of the netizens, who soon flooded social media with praise. Look at what they are saying:
