“Imran Khan’s Comeback: New Rom-Com with Director Danish Aslam?”

Imran Khan’s anticipated comeback could be with *Break Ke Baad* director Danish Aslam, as Aslam hinted at a new collaboration in a recent interview. While the project is still under wraps, Aslam shared that fans can expect an official announcement soon.

In his conversation with *India Today Digital*, Danish Aslam spoke of his friendship with Imran, confirming, “We’re working on something together, and once everything is finalized, we’ll announce it to everyone.”

Aslam acknowledged the ongoing media speculation but clarified that the project is still in development, with some details accurate and others less so. He emphasized that once all elements fall into place, they’ll “happily announce it.”

Age of Rom-com coming back?

Reflecting on *Break Ke Baad*, Aslam noted that while the film didn’t initially perform well at the box office, it gained popularity over time. He mentioned that the movie’s simple romantic comedy style has resonated with audiences, especially as rom-coms today often come with additional social themes or action elements.

Aslam shared how conversations with Imran over the past three years highlighted a resurgence in demand for classic romantic comedies. Many fans, now in their 20s and 30s, miss the straightforward, feel-good rom-coms of their youth and wish for a return of that genre.

He added that many current rom-coms carry serious undertones or focus on action, often aimed at a male audience, and he believes this has created a gap in the market for traditional rom-coms. According to Aslam, there’s a niche yet eager audience that still seeks lighthearted love stories.

Meanwhile, Danish Aslam is busy with his upcoming release, *Khawabon Ka Jhamela*. The film, featuring Sayani Gupta and Prateik Babbar, will be available on JioCinema from November 8, 2024. Aslam’s comments on the rom-com genre suggest that he and Imran Khan might be planning to create a nostalgic return to traditional romantic comedies for fans.
