‘I tried to maintain a distance off camera with Ranbir’: Paresh Rawal talks about his Sanju co-star
In Sanju, Paesh Rawal essayed the character of Sanjay Dutt’s father, the late actor-politician Sunil Dutt. The movie depicts the type of a bond Sanjay had with his father and how his father never left his side till his last breathe. Ranbir Kapoor who is known for getting quickly gelled up with his co-stars on sets failed to create such apport with his on-screen father Paresh Rawal.
In an interview Paresh Rawal revealed before media that while shooting for ‘Sanju’ he tried to maintain distance from Ranbir on the sets. “The story captures different phases of the father-son relationship. I tried to maintain a distance off camera with Ranbir so that as performers, we can stay true to the character. So on set, we were not pals who would chat together in between the shots,” Paresh told IANS, adding, “In the film also, that was the relationship we have shown, where Dutt saab loved his son to death but never had a friendly equation with Sanjay.”
Actor also explained things he learned while essayng the character of Sunil Dutt in the film. Actor was quoted saying-“All his life, he fought the battle of his life without complaining, without bad-mouthing anyone, without even cursing God. I think one can fight such a battle with dignity if only his ethical values and principles are strong.”
As of for now Sanju has grossed over 120cr at box office in an opening week. It became the highest opener of the year beating Race3, Padmavaat and Baaghi 2. Stay tuned with us for more Bollywood news and updates.
