Singer and rapper, Yo Yo Honey Singh, who became an overnight sensation with the electrifying ‘Angreji Beat,’ has made yet another record with his song ‘Dheere Dheere Se’ crossing 200 million views on YouTube. It is also the first Indian song to have crossed the 200 million view mark on YouTube. There was a lot of hype when rapper Honey Singh released his version of the cult song ‘Dheere Dheere’ in August 2015. While it got mixed reactions from listeners, the song did fabulously well on YouTube. The romantic number has got 20 crore views on the platform creating a record for an Indian song. The number of 200 million views is a stupendous feat for the rapper. While the original Dheere Dheere from the film ‘Aashiqui’ had Rahul Roy and Anu Agarwal, this one featured Sonam Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan. It was shot in the exotic locales of Turkey.
We have no qualms in calling him the Aamir Khan of the music industry, as he rightfully sets and breaks records and starts new number clubs. He is indeed setting high benchmarks for others to cross. His rehashed version of the popular ‘Dheere Dheere Se’ song from Aashiqui, became an instant hit with the audience, who loved the recreated romantic song with Honey Singh’s rapper touch. The cute and charming chemistry between Hrithik Roshan and Sonam Kapoor against the backdrop of stunning locations was an added bonus to the song. Though there are a number of rappers now, Honey Singh is still the original star for many. It seems he takes all the effort to be connected to his fans. His spokesperson said they send him covers of his hit tracks.
Honey Singh, who has been a talented music sensation for so many years now, is overwhelmed with the love he’s received for the song. He says, “I am overwhelmed with all the love, affection and warmth that I have been receiving for ‘Dheere Dheere.’ It is one of my most special works and I am glad that so many million hearts have taken to it in such a manner.” Honey Singh has been winning hearts with sensational party numbers like ‘Party All Night,’ ‘Desi Kalakaar’ and ‘Blue Eyes’ and he is truly one of India’s most loved music artists. Honey Singh who has found himself in a lot of controversies over the years has been maintaining a rather low profile since a few months. The musician in an interview in 2016 confessed suffering from alcoholism and bipolar disorder. After the success of ‘Lungi Dance’, he went into hibernation. Tales of his fallout with Shah Rukh Khan and rumours of him being in rehab did the rounds. In a tell-all interview in 2016, he spoke about how bipolar disorder affected his life. He stayed in Noida for 18 months at a time when his treatment did not give the desired results. The actor says that people supported during the low phase but he feels his fans deserve maximum credit.
