Kareena Kapoor Khan and husband Saif Ali Khan confirmed the birth of their son and also shared the name they have decided to give him: Taimur Ali Khan Pataudi. In a statement released shortly after their baby’s birth, the couple said: “We are very pleased to share with you all the wonderful news about the birth of our son: Taimur Ali Khan Pataudi, on the 20th of December 2016. We would like to thank the media for the understanding and support they have given us over the last 9 months, and of course especially our fans and well wishers for their continued affection. Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you all…With love, Saif & Kareena.”
Kareena Kapoor gave birth to the couple’s first child together on Tuesday morning. Both the Khan and Kapoor family members were present at the Breach Candy Hospital when Kareena was wheeled in for the delivery. Despite the speed at which Saif and Kareena shared the statement, they lost out to Karan Johar. The filmmaker shared the baby’s name before anyone else. In a tweet, Karan wrote on Twitter, “My Bebo had a baby boy!!!!!!! Am so so happy!!!!!!! #TaimurAliKhan.”

Meanwhile, entire Kapoor and Khan family and wellwishers were at the hospital to be on the side of Kareena Kapoor. ” We are delighted. We are so happy. The baby is fine and so is Kareena. All of us are absolutely delighted,” Kareena’s father Randhir Kapoor told a leading daily.
Earlier, there were reports that Kareena and Saif were planning to call their baby Saifeena. The rumours started after Kareena had mentioned it in a lighter vein in a show, “He finds it really funny. He says we’ll name our child Saifeena.” Saif had to issue a statement to end the rumours.
