Here’s what Rakshabandhan means for Manushi Chhillar
Initially a beauty queen, now an actress, Manushi Chillar has talked about the festival of Rakhi which was celebrated recently. She also mentioned what this sacred day means for her and it is all for believing in equality and gender parity.
Manushi has 2 other siblings, Dewangana and Dalmitra and her parents always taught all three to prioritise standing up for each other and protecting one another. Talking more about that, Manushi said, “In my family, my parents have always instilled a sense of parity, a sense of equality in everything we do or celebrate. So, even when we have celebrated Raksha Bandhan, it has been a very inclusive occasion for us.”
She also mentioned that her youngest brother Dalmitra has a progressive mindset, thanks to their parents and their teachings.
“My brother, being the youngest, has himself been vocal about the fact that he needs his sisters as much as we need him. That’s the bond we share. This ethos has come from our parents and how we have seen them being equals at everything. They have been our role models because of their principles, morals, philosophies and the way they have led and maintained their relationship.”
