FIR Lodged Against Anupam Kher and Akshaye Khanna For The Accidental Prime Minister, Details Inside
With the general election in mind, 2019 is all about political biographies. From The Accidental Prime Minister to PM Narendra Modi, quite a few films are making their way to the theaters this year. 2019 started with two politically motivated films Uri: The Surgical Strike and The Accidental Prime Minister. Uri did astonishing business at the box office, whereas The Accidental Prime Minister did decent business.
Vijay Ratnakar Gutte’s The Accidental Prime Minister has been in the center of huge controversy ever since the trailer dropped out. The Congress supports are furious with the film claiming that it portrays former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in a bad light. Even after the release of the film, the problem doesn’t seem to go away.
An FIR has been lodged in Muzaffarpur against the movie and its actors including Anupam Kher and Akshaye Khanna among others. An advocate by profession, Sudhir Kumar Ojha has filed the police complaint accusing filmmakers and the actors for portraying Manmohan Singh and other popular public figures in wrong way.
Muzaffarpur Police has lodged the complaint under IPC Sections 295, 153, 153A, 293, 504, 506, 120B and 34. The case was filed at the Kanti Police Station on Tuesday.
