80 thousand people cried and shouted as they got emotional to see Coldplay, lead by Chris Martin perform live for the first time in Mumbai. The band performed several memorable songs, including “Paradise”, “Viva La Vida”, “Yellow”, “Fix You”, for over an hour at the MMRDA grounds. Chris Martin did his absolute best to include Mumbai and India within the concert, surprising the crowd by breaking into Channa Mereya. The band ended the Global Citizen Festival India concert on a high note by singing “Vande Mataram” with music maestro A. R. Rahman while waving the national flag. In a video being shared on social media, Martin could be seen hooking the Indian Flag from the backend of his trousers, while performing at the centre-stage which did not go unnoticed which became a good reason For Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Nawad Malik to rant against BJP and Chris Martin.

Nawab Malik took to Twitter to express his displeasure on Chris Martin’s ‘apparent’ disrespect to the national flag demanding BJP and Shiv Sena leaders to apologize for it.
