Bollywood fans have all the reasons to rejoice as they will get to see Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan share screen space after a gap of 10 years. While these two Khans have shared the stage for award functions and reality shows, fans were waiting with bated breath to see them together on 70mm. And filmmaker Kabir Khan has finally done the unthinkable- bringing SRK and Salman together for a film.
Trade Analyst Komal Nahata took to Twitter to announce the news:
Interestingly, a few months ago Kabir had rubbished the reports for roping in Shah Rukh for a cameo in Tubelight. But it seems the tables have turned and he does need SRK in his film.
Buzz has it that Salman isn’t too happy with ‘Tubelight’ and has decided to bring his buddy SRK on board for the film. Though rumours suggested that Shatrugan Sinha was supposed to this cameo initially, however Salman insisted that his friend be roped in. So now it’s final that Shah Rukh is going to be a part of Salman Khan’s Tubelight and we will only have to wait for an official announcement from the team itself, though Komal Nahata’s confirmation is pretty much solid.
The two Khans have not appeared in a film together since Farah Khan’s ‘Om Shanti Om’ (2008) which saw Salman shake a leg with Shah Rukh in a song. If all goes well, next year’s Eid release will be all the more exciting.
As far as Salman and Shah Rukh are concerned, our sources had revealed that the two would have come together in Ali Abbas Zafar’s ‘Sultan’ that released last year. It seems when SRK dropped on the sets to meet Salman he even shot for a small portion. However the makers decided to drop that bit in the nth moment. And yes it was also the time when everyone was busy discussing the big box office clash between ‘Sultan’ and ‘Raees’. Shah Rukh’s film release was pushed and ‘Sultan’ had a solo release.
Now it wasn’t like there was any bad blood between Shah Rukh and Salman, coz they went on to host a popular award show together and surprised their fans. Of course seeing them together on the big screen will be an even special treat. We will soon be back with more details about Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Tubelight’ cameo so stay tuned!
