Fan of Rajinikanth dies while watching Lingaa
A die-hard fan of superstar Rajinikanth passes away while watching Rajinikanth’s latest release ‘Lingaa’ in a theatre. The fan named C.Rajendran and he was 55-years-old. It is later known that he was suffering from renal failure and was undergoing treatment in a private hospital. He was watching ‘Lingaa’ in a theatre on Trichy Road in Coimbatore on Thursday night.
Police informed that Rajendran, who runs a grill making workshop in Perur, is a huge fan of Rajini and secretly went to watch the night show of the movie at a theatre without informing his family. People seating near him informed that Rajendran was alive till intermission and he even enjoyed snacks and cola during the interval.
“I noticed him (Rajendran) during the interval. He was having popcorn and soft drink and seemed to be enjoying himself,” said Karnan, manager of Shanthi theatre.
In the second half of the movie, he passed away, “As he did not leave even half an hour after the end of the movie, the staff in the theater assuming that he is fast asleep, tried to wake him up. But were shocked to find him lifeless in a sitting position,” police said.
The theatre staff rushed him to the Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) in an ambulance at around 2.25 am. “However, the doctors declared that it was two hours since he died. We came to know his identity with the driving licence in his pocket,” police said.
The police got information about his family from a mobile number which he has written at the back side of his son’s photo kept in his wallet.“He even had some snacks and did not show any signs of difficulty. But had died suddenly,” said the police. He is survived by wife, a son and a daughter.
