India lost to England in the first Test Match played at Edgbaston by 31 runs. The test match was one of the most thrilling matches in recent times with Indian skipper Virat Kohli doing everything he could to take India home.
Virat Kohli scored 149 runs in first innings and 51 runs in the second innings, however, he got no help from other Indian batsmen. Virat played a captain’s knock at Edgbaston but sadly couldn’t win the match. Indian fans were disappointed after seeing the disastrous batting of all other batsmen. In a low scoring match, England defeated India by 31 runs in a nail-biting finish.
In the second Inning, India needed 194 to win the first test. Virat Kohli scored a magnificent 51 before getting out of a ball by Ben Stokes. Indian skipper didn’t get any support from another end, which made his life at the crease even more difficult. With this England has taken a 1-0 lead in five-match series.
Virat Kohli also became the number test batsman in the world dethroning Australian captain Steve Smith. After Sachin Tendulkar, he is the first Indian batsman to achieve this honor. Performances like these prove that Virat is inarguably the greatest cricketers of the current generation.
However, a very unfortunate incident happened after the match. When Indian team bus was leaving the stadium for the hotel, England fans started mocking Indian skipper Virat Kohli. They started chanting, “Where is your Kohli gone? We have James Anderson.” Not only cricketers, they also mocked Indian fans.
