Emraan Hashmi’s Debut Production ‘Cheat India’ Accused Of Plagiarism!

Emraan Hashmi who is known as the ‘serial kisser’ of Bollywood has landed into a controversy for his upcoming project ‘Cheat India’. Delhi based writer Dinesh Gautam and actor Imran Zahid claimed Cheat India’s storyline is copied from their film titled ‘Marksheet’.Dinesh and Imran said that during one of their plays, Mahesh Bhatt was planning and discussing a film with them. Dinesh then revealed to Bhatt his plans of making a film on the corruption that exists in the Indian education system. Dinesh said that the script might not be the same but the idea is theirs. Dinesh Gautam has filed a complaint with the Writers’ Association.

But Hashmi’s production house has some other story to tell. It claims that people are trying to get publicity with such news. They said that the title and story were registered eight months ago and nobody knows about the script as it is not yet completed. ‘Cheat India’ is co-produced by T-Series, Atul Kasbekar’s Ellipsis Entertainment and Emraan and reportedly goes on floor in July and is slated to release on 26th January 2019. Atul Kasbekar took to his Instagram account and shared a picture of team ‘Cheat India’ and captioned it, “And a pre Birthday present to @therealemraan Signed our co pro agreement with him and our partners at @TSeries for our next motion picture #CheatIndia Shooting starts in July 2018 and the release has been slated for January 25, 2019.
