Diljit Dosanjh is captivating audiences with his *Dil-Luminati* India tour. Recently, he performed his second concert in Delhi at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, drawing a crowd of approximately 35,000 fans who were swept up in the excitement. Lasting two hours, the concert was filled with energy as Dosanjh entertained fans with his signature hits and heartfelt moments. Among the highlights was an emotional tribute to his mother, where he shared his pride in Punjabi culture and language.

Taking to Instagram, Dosanjh posted a clip from the concert, explaining the roots of his iconic phrase, “Punjabi aa gaye oye.” He spoke warmly about his love for Punjabi, which he learned from his mother. “When I was born, my mother spoke in Punjabi. I learned Punjabi first,” he shared, adding that while he deeply respects the diversity of languages in India—from Gujarati to Kannada, Telugu, and Hindi—Punjabi remains his first language because of his mother’s influence. “So, I say, ‘Punjabi aa gaye Delhi oye,’” he told the crowd, receiving cheers and applause.

He explained in an earlier interview that he became somewhat distanced from his parents after moving to live with his maternal uncle at age 11. Recalling this transition, he shared, “I was eleven when I left home to live with my mamaji in Ludhiana. He said, ‘Send him to the city with me,’ and my parents agreed without even asking me.”
