Aamir Khan is the most popular actor working in Bollywood Industry. The actor is now synonyms of blockbuster films. Whenever his film releases, it breaks numerous records at the box office all around the world. His last outing Dangal became the highest grossing Bollywood film ever made. But very few people know that the actor has also refused some of the blockbusters films in his career. He missed two blockbuster films Darr and Karan Arjun.
It is a well known fact that Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan were not the first choices for the leading characters of Karan Arjun. Sunaina Roshan opened up about the same in her father Rakesh Roshan’s biography ‘To Dad With Love’. It was revealed that Ajay Devgn and Shah Rukh Khan were the first choices for the film Karan Arjun, but both of them didn’t want to do the film. After this, the movie was offered to Salman Khan and Aamir Khan, where Salman Khan said yes to the film. But Aamir Khan turned down Karan Arjun, which went on to be one of the highest grossing films of that year.
Recently, Aamir opened up about why he turned down Karan Arjun in conversation with Anupama Chopra and Rajeev Masand. Talking about the same, Aamir said,
“Karan Arjun was also offered to me by Rakesh Roshan and again I thought it was a nice story and I told Rakesh ji that I think it’s gonna be a huge, huge hit but I just don’t feel I’m a part of it.“
The actor further talked about not being part of Darr. Mr. Perfectionist said,
“I was doing Darr. I didn’t say no to Darr. Darr, I was removed from so there is a big difference in that. I was let go off (for asking too many questions apparently, interjected Rajeev Masand). Yes, for asking too many questions.“
It is an irony that Aamir Khan gave two blockbuster films to superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Currently, both the actors are ruling Indian cinema, but we wonder what would have happened if Aamir did both Karan Arjun and Darr.
Aamir Khan starrer Secret Superstar is currently running in the theater. It is a musical drama film directed by Advait Chandan and produced by Aamir Khan. The movie features Zaira Wasim, Meher Vij and Aamir Khan in the lead roles. The movie has gotten good reviews from the critics as well as the public.
