Did you know Tabu Was Engaged To Sajid Nadiadwala?

Did you know Tabu was once engaged to filmmaker Sajid Nadiadwala? Known for her powerful performances in Bollywood, Tabu has won two National Film Awards and a Padma Shri for her contributions to Indian cinema. If you’re a Bollywood fan, you’ve probably seen her outstanding work in Cheeni Kum, Drishyam, and Andhadhun. Despite her success, Tabu’s journey has had its share of challenges, including a brief engagement to Nadiadwala that didn’t lead to marriage.

Tabu’s career began unexpectedly. Though initially focused on academics, she entered the film industry after legendary actor Dev Anand encouraged her. At just 15, she appeared in Hum Naujawan in 1985. Her first major break came in Vijaypath in 1994 alongside Ajay Devgn, which established her as a rising star in Bollywood. However, her journey was not without personal struggles. Tabu’s parents divorced when she was only three years old, leaving her mother and grandmother to raise her and her sister. With her father absent from her life, she decided not to use his surname, Hashmi.

Despite her successful career, Tabu faced heartbreak in her personal life. Her most significant relationship was with filmmaker Sajid Nadiadwala, whom she met on the set of *Jeet*. They became close and eventually got engaged, but the relationship ended before they could marry. Since then, Tabu has chosen to stay single, finding joy and fulfillment on her own terms. In a *Hindustan Times* interview, she shared, “Happiness comes from many things unconnected with relationship status. You can handle aloneness, but a wrong partner could make life lonelier than solitude.”

While Tabu never married, she has often spoken about her love for her family and friends, which keeps her grounded. She is especially close to her sister, Farah Naaz, and her nephews, whom she treasures deeply. The actress finds solace in her family life and doesn’t feel pressured by societal expectations to settle down.

Now 52, Tabu continues to take on roles that showcase her range and depth as an actress. Known for her intense dedication, she remains one of Bollywood’s most admired figures. Her commitment to acting, strength in staying true to herself, and resilience make her an inspiration for fans and budding actors alike. Tabu’s story is a testament to forging one’s path, embracing individuality, and finding fulfillment beyond traditional norms.
