Did Sushant Singh Rajput Take A Dig At Ranveer Singh And ‘Befikre’?!
The year 2016 was a roller coaster ride for actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The actor, who separated from his long time partner Ankita Lokhande last year, left everyone speechless with his fantastic performance in ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story‘. The ‘Kai Po Che‘ actor will be busier in 2017 as he has three other films lined up for the year.
Recent rumors suggested that Ranveer Singh-starrer ‘Befikre‘ – which did not do very well at the domestic box office – was initially offered to Sushant Singh Rajput. Refuting the rumors, Sushant has said that he wouldn’t even have done the film had it been offered to him.
Recently, in an interview with a daily, he bared his heart out and revealed why he would never do a film like ‘Befikre’. And let me tell you, it has nothing to do with his alleged cold war with fellow actor Ranveer Singh. He revealed that he was never offered the Ranveer Singh starrer and even if it was offered, he wouldn’t have done it.
Justifying himself, the actor said “If ‘Befikre’ was representing the new-age youth of India and romance as what it was claiming, it would have been great irrespective of the box-office numbers. But unfortunately, it didn’t do that and hence I would not be interested. I am not suggesting that films should only reflect reality (like ‘Pink‘, ‘Neerja‘ or Dhoni biopic.) They could also be fanciful films like ‘The Jungle Book‘ (2016), which was also very popular. But it’s extremely important to know and then claim what you have made. It’s a wonderful new India, and it is reflecting in the way we are bridging the gap between our ‘hits’ and ‘good’ films.”
On a related note, Sushant Singh, who was last seen in Neeraj Pandey biopic on cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni – ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’, is currently working on his next ‘Raabta‘, opposite Kriti Sanon.
