Sunita Ahuja Opens Up About Industry Biases Against Tina
Bollywood has long been accused of favoring star kids, but Govinda’s wife, Sunita Ahuja, claims that “reverse nepotism” kept their daughter, Tina Ahuja, from getting roles in the film industry. She revealed that many in the industry believed the veteran actor would interfere in Tina’s work, “abuse” or “boss around” crews on set, leading to a reluctance in hiring her.
“I don’t understand why people create such myths,” Sunita said, addressing the misconceptions that may have contributed to her daughter being sidelined.

While Bollywood is often criticized for favoring insiders, Sunita believes the industry’s selective favoritism worked against Tina. She voiced frustration over the lack of opportunities given to aspiring actors outside the industry’s inner circle.
She stated:
“Nepotism band karo na. Doosre logon ko bhi kaam karne ka mauka to do. Baahar bhi toh dekho, log aur bhi baithe hain. Abhi bhi she (Tina) is open to work. Kaam milega, woh karegi, usko shauk bhi hai bohot kaam karne ka. Abhi ek hi actor ko aap kitni baar dekhoge.”
(“Stop nepotism. Give others a chance too. There are many talented people waiting for opportunities. Tina is still open to work. If she gets the right roles, she will definitely do them. How many times will audiences watch the same actor?”

While Govinda’s nephew and niece, Krushna Abhishek and Aarti Singh, have successfully carved a niche in television, Tina’s Bollywood career remains uncertain. However, Sunita remains hopeful, emphasizing that her daughter is still eager and ready for opportunities.
