Dia Mirza recently directed an ad for a public service initiative called Kids For Tiger .“It is an incredible programme, which I’m sure will have a huge impact on kids. It will teach them how they should respond to nature. Kids are insightful and intuitive. They understand that doing something to nature is like doing the same to ourselves,” says Dia.
The ad was shot with 20 kids between the ages of 4 and 14. The group also included Emraan Hashmi’s son Ayaan, and Zayed Khan’s kids Aariz and Zidaan.
The actor adds that environmentalist Bittu Sahgal, who she deeply admires, asked her to direct the ad. “He is my hero. I respect the work he has done, and continues to do in the field of environment. He asked me to direct this ad. Initially, I was sceptical about the idea, but then I took it up,” says Dia.
“I think I was being ambitious when I decided to do the ad with 20 kids (laughs). But I went in with an open mind. The idea was to go with the flow. Kids have a mind of their own, which is great. No amount of prepping can prepare you for the kind of magic they bring with them,” she says to a leading daily tabloid.
