Deepika Padukone is inarguably the biggest actress in Bollywood. Currently, she is basking the success of her massive blockbuster Padmaavat, which earned more than Rs. 500 Crore worldwide. Ever since the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus we have been waiting for an announcement about her next film. The wait is over folks, the news of Deepika signing a new film has taken over the internet. We couldn’t contain our excitement after knowing that she has signed a huge superhero film.
Yes, that’s right! Deepika will play first Indian female superhero in her next film. It has taken Bollywood a long time, but at least they are taking steps in right direction. Easiest prediction about the character would be that it is going to be similar to Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, but we have a totally different view on that.
If the reports have anything to go by, Deepika will play an Indian superhero and it is also known that Fox is backing the film. If we look at the Indian superhero’s rights owned by FOX, it seems Deepika could play a superhero which will be modelled after Omega Sentinel, whose real name is Karima Shapandar. She is an X-Men.
Karima Shapandar was a police officer from India, who was transformed into Omega Sentinel. This character is totally apt for Bollywood, as she has a romantic angle with a fellow fictional character Neel Shaara.
If you are still not convinced, look at the next-upcoming X-Men Movie. Dark Phoenix is the next X-Men film, which has a sequence at the island of Genosha, which is the same place, Omega Sentinel was spotted last time.
We are not 100% sure about the same, as no official details have been released yet. If it comes out to be true, it is going to be one hell of a movie to look forward to.
