Earlier, it was believed that the makers wanted to cast Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for the film but still were not sure. As they have already had another beauty Deepika Padukone in the mind. Finally, it is clear that the makers have chosen Deepika as their lead. The film is a female oriented and it will definitely be one of the biggest movies of Deepika Padukone’s career.
In a recent interview with HT, Sanjay Leela Bhansali also spoke about the two beautiful ladies. He said, “One has done three films with me, one has done two films with me. But both are beautiful, both are from Mangalore, both are wonderful girls, both are my friends…” “Aishwarya was my muse. I could look at her and she would understand what I’m saying. Deepika has really evolved as an actor. What she’s given me, I don’t think anybody else will. Mastani was too special.”
So now the lead cast is finalized and we could expect another historical drama coming ahead to entertain the Indian audience.
