Deepika Padukone on Irrfan Khan’s illness: I can’t say it was expected, but neither was it a shock
Deepika padukone is all set to work again with his Piku co-star Irrfan Khan in Vishal Bhardwaj’s directorial based on gangster Sapna Didi. Duo was all set to start filming but then Irrfan was diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumor. After Irrfan Khan headed to london for his treatment, Vishal tweeted- “Pushing back film by a few months, @irrfank down with jaundice and @deepikapadukone with resurfaced back issue caused during Padmaavat.”
Recently in an interaction with The New Indian Express, Deepika talked about Vishal Bhardwaj’s film and also about Irrfan’s health. She stated, “Forget the actor part, for me, Irrfan is someone I’m extremely fond of as a person. I can’t say it was expected, but neither was it a shock. I myself have been through certain experiences in the past, and it has taught me that life is fragile. Anything can happen to anyone. Nothing shocks or alarms me anymore, but I do wish him good health and a speedy recovery.”
Earlier when Deepika was interacting with News18, Deepika expressed how she realised life is very fragile and expressed her concern over Irrfan Khan’s illness. “He is someone I love, he is someone I am extremely fond of and to be honest I think it has also been very hard not reaching out because they have asked for their space. But I guess, you know sitting where I am all I can say is a little prayer every night and hope that you know that all goes well. But at the same time like I said you know three years ago I realised life is extremely fragile, so my whole perspective to life changed after my experience with depression,” said Deepika.
