Deepika Padukone likely to replace Kangana Ranaut in Anurag Basu’s ‘Imli’
The female lead of Anurag Basu’s film ‘Imli’ has become the talk of the town. Initially the makers approached ‘Manikarnika’ actress- Kangana Ranaut for the role. Things were almost finalized but a reports shared by Bollywood Hungama suggest that actress walked out of the film and now makers are looking for the new face for the role.
The latest name to crop up is Deepika Padukone. Reports also states that they are already in talks with Deepika and things are going smooth and positive between the director and the actress.
A source told the portal, “Kangana Ranaut had walked out of filmmaker Anurag Basu’s forthcoming movie Imli citing difference in opinion. As the two of them couldn’t reunite after Gangster and Life In A Metro, the filmmaker has now approached Deepika Padukone to play the lead role in the film. As Deepika is busy with Chhapaak, the conversations between the filmmaker and the actress have been more than positive.”
Earlier, Anurag Basu declined the reports of Kangana’s opting out of the movie. Kangana was supposed to start the shoot for ‘Imli’ in last November, but dates of ‘Manikarnika- The Queen Of Jhansi’ got clashed with Imli. Later, Anurag got busy with another movie, while Kangana was occupied with ‘Panga’. Meanwhile, Deepika is busy with her first home production film- Chhapaak which is been directed by Meghna Gulzar.
The movie is slated for January 10, 2020 release.
